8.6 - Other Reporting Packages
Introduction:
Other reporting packages may be used for purposes of
statistical analysis. Libraries Victoria member libraries all have access to
BLUEcloud Analytics, which harvests statistical data from the Symphony server
and creates its own separate database.
8.6.1 - BLUEcloud Analytics
Introduction
BLUEcloud Analytics (BCA) is third party reporting tool available from SirsiDynix, using the MicroStrategy database structure.
BCA reports comprise of either “Standard Reports” (simple grid/table layout reports), or “Dossier Analysis” reports (graphic rich displays, combining tables, graphs, pie charts and other visualisations). The following data sets are available for building a wide range of analytical reports:
· Acquisitions
(SYM) (Symphony Acquisitions module data)
· Bill (patron bill data)
· Catalog
(relates to the control data for bibliographic records)
· Checkout History (SYM) (Symphony loan history data)
· Checkouts (current checkout data)
· Hold (holds data)
· Item (copy/item data)
· MARC (full bibliographic MARC data)
· Serials (SYM)
(Symphony Serials module data)
· Trans (SYM) (Symphony transaction data, comprising Hist - History Log data - and Stat - Statistic Log data)
· User (user
data)
BCA reports can be scheduled ahead of time, and the report results may be added to a user’s “history” for later reference. They can also be emailed.
Accessing BCA
BC Analytics can be accessed at https://plv-bca.bc.sirsidynix.net.au/bcanalytics/asp/Main.aspx
Each
library service is provided with one Creator level login account for BCA, and
may opt for additional Reporter level login accounts if required. Definitions of the different user levels, including their permissions and report building rights, can be found on the SirsiDynix Support Centre here - https://support.sirsidynix.com/kb/163056.
Training guides and details about training courses in the use of BC Analytics can be found here -https://support.sirsidynix.com/training-document/54406
